The story behind the album
Outside the Circle (Remake) is a reflection on a lifetime spent navigating a world that often felt unfamiliar.
Built around themes of neurodivergence, memory, loss, resilience, and belonging, the album revisits the emotional landscape of the original release through new arrangements, deeper production, and a clearer understanding of the journey that inspired it.
For many years, fragments of childhood remained inaccessible. Memory existed in flashes: a harbour, a classroom, a threatening voice, a gust of wind across open water. Much of the story was hidden behind trauma, depression, and the feeling of being fundamentally different from those around him.
Only later came the understanding of autism and neurodivergence.
The discovery did not rewrite the past.
It explained it.
The songs on Outside the Circle (Remake) explore that realisation. They tell the story of a child who never quite fitted inside the lines drawn by others, a teenager searching for refuge, and an adult learning that there was never anything wrong with being different.
Across storms, fog, fragments, and harbours, the album follows a path from confusion towards acceptance. Not acceptance of what happened, but acceptance of oneself.
At the heart of the project is Eira Vale, the imagined voice of North of Silence Collective. Fragile yet unwavering, her presence serves as both narrator and witness, carrying these stories through landscapes of ambient textures, cinematic soundscapes, and moments of profound silence.
She is not a character.
She is a reflection.
A voice given to memories that rarely had one.
Outside the Circle (Remake) is ultimately about survival. About standing apart without shame. About discovering that those who live outside the circle often see things others cannot.
It is a tribute to the outsiders, the quiet thinkers, the dreamers, the neurodivergent, the wounded, and the resilient.
A reminder that being different is not a failure to belong.
Sometimes it is simply a different way of being in the world.

Track-by-Track
1. Threshold (Intro)
Every journey begins with a crossing.
Threshold exists in the space between silence and memory, between forgetting and remembering. Wind drifts through distant textures while fragmented notes emerge like shapes hidden in fog.
Nothing is explained.
Nothing is resolved.
The listener is simply invited to step beyond the familiar and into a world where memories, emotions and silence coexist.
"Not every door leads somewhere new. Some doors lead back to the parts of ourselves we left behind."
2. Storm of My Mind
The first chapter is turbulence.
Storm of My Mind captures the experience of living inside overwhelming thoughts, unprocessed emotions and invisible battles. It is the sound of searching for direction while caught in mental weather that refuses to settle.
For years there was confusion. For years there were questions. For years there seemed to be no map.
Yet even storms have a purpose.
Sometimes they clear the air.
Sometimes they reveal what matters most.
"The storm was never the enemy. The storm taught me where my roots were."
3. Echoes in the Fog
Memory does not always return clearly.
Sometimes it arrives as a distant voice, a scent, a place, or a feeling that cannot be fully explained. Echoes in the Fog explores the uncertain territory between knowing and not knowing.
The fog hides.
The fog protects.
The fog allows healing to happen gradually.
This song honours the fragments we can touch and the mysteries we may never fully understand.
"Some memories disappear into the fog. Their absence does not make them less real."
4. Fragments of Yesterday
At the centre of the album lies a collection of broken pieces.
Scattered memories. Incomplete stories. Moments suspended in time.
For those who have lived through trauma, memory often becomes fragmented. Entire chapters disappear while certain moments remain painfully vivid.
Fragments of Yesterday is not about recovering everything that was lost.
It is about learning to live with what remains.
It is about survival.
"I stopped searching for every missing piece and began building with what I still had."
5. Harbour of Silence
After chaos comes stillness.
After years of feeling unsafe, there are places that offer shelter. For some people it is a person. For others it is nature.
For me, it was often the water.
Harbour of Silence is a place of refuge. A safe anchorage after a long journey through uncertainty. The song reflects the comfort of finding moments where the world becomes quiet enough to breathe.
"Healing does not always arrive as a breakthrough. Sometimes it arrives as a harbour."
6. Outside the Circle
This is the heart of the album.
For much of life, standing outside the circle felt painful. Being different meant exclusion, misunderstanding and loneliness.
Only later came a different realisation.
Perhaps the goal was never to fit inside the circle.
Perhaps the goal was to understand why standing outside it offered a different perspective.
This song transforms difference into dignity and outsidership into identity.
It is a tribute to every person who has ever felt misplaced.
"The circle was never too small for me. My horizon was simply larger."
7. Outside the Circle (Reprise)
The story ends not where it began, but where it has arrived.
The struggle remains part of the journey. The memories remain incomplete. The silence remains.
Yet something has changed.
There is no longer a need to fight the past.
The reprise serves as a gentle farewell, revisiting the central themes of the album with acceptance instead of conflict.
The circle no longer defines the traveller.
The traveller defines the path.
"Peace is not the absence of scars. Peace is the moment you stop apologising for them."
Closing Note
Outside the Circle (Remake) is the story of a life spent searching for understanding. It is about memory and absence. Difference and belonging. Survival and acceptance. Most of all, it is about discovering that the qualities once seen as weaknesses can become sources of strength.
Sometimes the most meaningful journeys are not about finding your place inside the circle. Sometimes they are about learning to stand proudly outside it.
